So Simple, So Efficient.
June 5, 2019
Hydroflux will be installing a 25ML Covered Anaerobic Lagoon (CAL) as part of an upgrade to a client’s existing wastewater treatment plant system.
The CAL has been designed to handle up to 4 Megalitres (ML), or 4 million litres, a week of wastewater. The enormous size of the CAL allows for a sturdy treatment process by buffering peak flow and contaminant loadings and by reduction of COD under anaerobic conditions. This results in a lower COD load on the downstream aerobic treatment stage, reducing energy consumption and thus costs.
While CAL’s are not a new technology, it is a robust system with very low on-going operational costs that offers a sustainable waste to energy process of recovering methane gas to supplement the natural gas consumption in the production plant.
