Perspective of a Wastewater Treatment Specialist – Ambrose Mollenhauer

April 24, 2020

Ambrose joined the Hydroflux Group in early March as a Brisbane based Account Manager for Hydroflux Utilities. After meeting the team at our International Women’s Day Lunch and completing the necessary inductions in Sydney, he has spent the rest of his time working from home.

As his team is scattered down the east coast of Australia, Ambrose was always going to be distance working. He is responsible for supporting local clients in Queensland with ongoing supply of chemicals, spare parts and service to ensure their wastewater plants keep running efficiently.

As site visits are currently somewhat restricted, Ambrose is now offering virtual site optimisation surveys. Thanks to standard and some specialist technology, reviewing wastewater treatment plants remotely and establishing a design and plan for optimisation is a relatively simple exercise.

“Whether clients are in the urban jungle or in a regional area, I can connect with them instantly and walk them around their facility remotely allowing me to build a plan for improvement. What’s better is that I can spend more time working on the plan as I don’t have to spend hours travelling”

These site optimisation plans are further to HyCONNECT® which is a remote connection facility Hydroflux provides to offer advanced support to our clients. This facility provides our experienced wastewater technicians and engineers 24/7 real time access to our client’s treatment plant control system. To read more about this click here.

“I always find that a wastewater plant runs best right after spending time fixing or cleaning components and making adjustments to optimise the process. With remote monitoring and real-time plant controls, customers are able to check on their plant and make small adjustments using Hydroflux specialists for guidance.”

On a personal level, the current restrictions has allowed Ambrose to spend more of his spare time exercising on his road bike and concentrating on writing and recording new music with his band ‘The Steele Syndicate.’

“I’m enjoying having more time to cycle and discover new routes in my area. I’m lucky enough to live by the water on Moreton Bay, so it’s hard to find a bad view when cycling the streets!”

Check his stats on Strava! Strava is great for finding new routes and following some INCREDIBLE athletes! (Check out his friend Nathan for some fit-spiration).
