High Performance HyDAF Upgrade for Major Food Manufacturer

April 1, 2025

Hydroflux recently upgraded the wastewater treatment facility at Pattie’s processing site in Pakenham to improve efficiency and reliability.

Pattie’s is a leading manufacturer of pre-made foods, including meat pies, baked goods, party pies, and desserts—most notably the iconic Four’N Twenty meat pie.

The existing DAF-based trade waste treatment system had been in place for over 30 years and was underperforming due to ageing infrastructure and outdated processes. To address these challenges, Hydroflux installed a high-performance HyDAF HD50, designed to remove at least 90% of Total Suspended Solids (TSS) and Oil & Grease (O&G).

To achieve the required performance while minimising operational costs, Hydroflux Industrial collaborated with Hydroflux Utilities to develop a tailored chemical dosing program. This program uses proprietary advanced chemicals specifically formulated for food and beverage wastewater treatment.

At Hydroflux, we aim to provide solutions that meet both current and future needs while ensuring the lowest long-term operational costs. Our approach includes comprehensive quality assurance checks and rigorous testing to validate performance and build confidence in the solution. We look forward to continuing our support for Pattie’s in the years ahead.
